2009 NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship to Begin This Friday
Sixty four of the best players in the poker industry will gather this Friday to compete in the 2009 NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship. Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will be filled with poker pros and fans alike who want to watch as the competition begins.The tournament is played in a bracket style format. Players must compete in the Elite 8 move on to the Final 4 and then win the best of three series to win the championship. First place will win $500,000 which is part of the $1.5 million prize pool.
Caesars Palace gave away two seats and PokerStars had a few to give away as well but the rest of the field was invited based on certain criteria. Just a few to participate in the event are: Phil Hellmuth, Ted Forrest, Paul Wasicka, Chris Ferguson, Chad Brown, Huck Seed, Phil Ivey, Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold, Peter Eastgate, John Phan, Ivan Demidov, Erick Lindgren, John Juanda, Jonathan Little, Glen Chorny, Kenny Tran and Andy Bloch.
Many others will be participating in the competition and the event will last three days. The players will not know who they will be up against until March 5th when the drawing party takes place. The tournament is sure to be an exciting time in the world of poker as so many big name players take the stage to compete.
