Phil Laak to attempt World Record

World records are being attempted on a pretty regular basis in the poker industry and sometimes a record is made without anyone actually doing anything. Recently poker pro Phil Laak announced he is going to try and break the record for most hour soft poker played in one single sitting. Paul Zimbler previously set the record last fall. (27/05)

Ali Tekintamgac wins WPT Barcelona

The World Poker Tour Barcelona event has finished up and 326 players registered to compete in the main event. The prize pool created was worth over €1 million and this was the largest crowd a WPT circuit event had ever created. The first place prize was worth €315,000 and it was won by Ali Tekintamgac. San Pablo Casino Drops game of poker

Most casinos carry the game of poker as their main draw, but one casino recently dropped the game all together. The Lytton Casino in San Pablo has taken down their fourteen poker tables and laid off ninety one workers in the process to make way for one hundred electronic bingo machines which will be more lucrative for the casino. Woman Makes History on WSOP Circuit

Daphne ‘Tweety’ Turner has made World Series of Poker Circuit history by becoming the first woman to earn two WSOP Circuit rings. No woman has ever won two events in a single season of the WSOP Circuit and Turner is now in the record books. (18/05)

The World Poker Tour has announced yet another event to be added to their schedule. The World Poker Tour will be heading to London to host the London Poker Classic which will take place from August 29th to September 5th 2010. (11/05)

Matt Savage to host tournament in Las Vegas

Matt Savage a favorite tournament host of many will be at it again this summer in Las Vegas. Savage has not hosted a poker tournament since 2004 and he will now be hosting the Las Vegas Poker Series. The tournament is set to take place on August 13th to the 22nd at the Hard Rock in Vegas. (06/05)

WPT Headed to London

The World Poker Tour is a land based poker tour that travels all over the world hosting various events. The tour recently announced a new stop that has been added to the schedule. The World Poker Tour will now be stopping in London for the World Poker Tour London Poker Classic this August. (04/05)
