Another poker room leaves USMany online gambling sites have decided to leave the United States market to avoid any charges that may be filed by the Department of Justice. Operators are scared they will be put in the same category with Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker and will be shut down and prosecuted. Now another online poker room has announced they are leaving the US market.
Victory Poker is part of the Cake Poker Network and they have decided to leave the market before they see any trouble. The online poker room launched just last year for US players and have been in talks to join the Cereus Network, which is where Absolute Poker is located. If Victory Poker joined the Cereus network they would be in the direct line of fire for charges from the DOJ.
Dan Fleyshman the CEO of Victory Poker stated: “The Cake Poker Network has blocked US players on Victory Poker already and is working on the switch now. The Cake Poker Network will continue to accept US players as a network as long as they like but I have made a personal choice not to have Victory Poker continue.
I don't have XYZ shell companies or shady processing. Victory Poker is a poker skin on a network so we have no access to merchant accounts, credit card processing or wire transfers. The second I heard that the government was crushing the top three, I blocked US players for VictoryPoker.com even though none of the other skins on the Cake, Merge, Everleaf or Yahatay networks did. It's a personal choice. I don't want to battle with the government as it is relentless and almighty.”
