It was recently announced that online poker room UB has cancelled the Aruba Poker Classic. The tournament was cancelled so the poker room can focus on their site and existing tournaments they already offer.

The site is going to create even larger tournaments as well as new poker tournaments. The site is going to offer a new tournament series and the site is planning on offering a $500,000 guaranteed tournament this year. The poker room is hoping to turn the event into a million dollar tournament at some point.

“It is with great regret that we are announcing that the Aruba event will not run this year but 2010 is going to be an exciting year for UB and its players," said Tokwiro chief operating officer Paul Leggett. "Over the last year, we have been redefining the UB brand in every way. We love the Aruba Poker Classic event but we think we can do a lot more for our players by investing in new events and rewards."
