Biggest Poker Buy-in ever to take place at Monte Carlo IPPA Championship
Poker tournaments take place all the time at varying buy-ins. Poker players will see tournaments with very small dollars, sometimes just pennies, while other tournaments can cost thousands of dollars. In November the International Poker Players Association Championship will take place in Monte Carlo and it will have the largest buy-in ever for a poker tournament. The event will have a buy-in of $250,000 and will have openings for forty eight poker players. This will see the winner taking home an awesome $5 million dollar prize. The event will take place in Monaco in the end of November and several poker pros have already confirmed they are competing in the tournament.
Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, Michael and Robert Mizrachi, Johnny Chan, Gus Hansen, Huck Seed, Freddie Deeb, Bruno Fitoussi, Allen Cunningham, Tony G and John Hennigan. The buy-in to this tournament is huge and we know pros can easily afford it but for the regular poker player it will be tough. So for $1,000 players can qualify for the tournament to be held in November. Live satellites will take place in Los Angeles as well as Monaco for players to participate in.
The qualifiers will have ‘equity rebuy’s’ taking place which will have the first round being a 10-handed shootout tables and the winner will earn their buy-in back, $1,000, and then they will advance to the second round of qualifying. Players who have busted can then use the equity re-buy and reenter the tournament for $9,000 which equals the second round seta prize.
This tournament is going to be monumental especially since it has the largest buy-in ever for a single poker tournament. Only the top players will be able to perform and it will be interesting to see who is able to take down the massive first place prize.
