Candidates for Poker Hall of Fame Announced
The governing council of the Poker Hall of Fame recently announced the names of the people who are still in contention to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The list of names will be one short as the council also announced that Tom Dwan was dropped from the list of nominees.

Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan was dropped from the list of nominees by the council because according to them, he did not meet the criteria to be a nominee. The governing council commented in a statement: “With all due respect to Mr. Dwan, one of the game’s most exciting young players, he does not currently meet the criteria for the Hall of Fame selection.

The names left as nominees are: Mike Sexton, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Harrington, Tom McEvoy, Men Nguyen, Barry Greenstein and Erik Seidel. There are two, fifteen person voting panels that will make the decision as to who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The winners will be announced in Las Vegas on November 7th during a dinner break from the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event Final Table. A special ceremony will take place to honor the new members.
