Croatian player wins PokerStars Eureka Poker Tour Croatia EventAlija Filipovic was one of 171 players competing in the PokerStars Eureka Poker Tour Croatia Event at the Golden Sun Casino in Zagreb. The poker pro was able to outlast the field of competitors and take down the first place win after a tough competition.
The tournament had a buy-in of 1,000 plus 100 and the prize pool was quite large with all the players competing. Filipovic managed to make it to heads up play and he was set to face Mate Mecs of Hungary. The two struck a deal after play began and in the end it would be Filipovic who earned the first place finish.
When heads up play began, Filipovic held a 3 to 1 chip lead; however, Mecs was able to get his chip stack at an even rate with Filipovic. But this would not last long and Filipovic would take the lead once again. The eventual win would come when Mecs decided to put his A-J against Filipovics A-K.

The Eureka Poker Tour will now head to the Golden Sands Casino in Bulgaria to host their next event. Though this time, there will be a quite a break until the tour begins. The next stop is not set until June 4th to the 10th.
