EPT Kiev Event Won by Maxim Lykov
PokerStars first ever European Poker Tour Kiev event took place recently and the main event was won by Russian player Maxim Lykov. Maxim is a twenty one year old poker player from Moscow and he was able to outlast the almost 300 other players to take the first ever title.

The tournament took place in the capital of the Ukraine and earned Maxim €330,000 for first place. second place went to Alexander Dovzhenko who earned €220,000 while Vitaly Tolonnikov earned €140,000 for third.

Maxim has been on a role as of late earning $145,000 in a recent no-limit hold’em event at the 2009 World Series of Poker. Maxim also became the first EPT winner to win an event after keeping the chip lead for three days consecutively.

"On days two and three, I really felt quite confident that I would make the final. I am very proud to win this tournament," Lykov told the EPT website.

"It was a hard contest but I believed I could do it," he added.
