Gus Hansen Launches ThePlayr.Com
Gus Hansen also known as "The Great Dane" in the professional poker world is taking his role in the industry to the next level. The 2007 Aussie Millions Champ has plans to open his own online poker site. Hansen hosted an open press release at the Crown Casino located in Melbourne Australia. Gus intends to set up ThePlayr.Com as an advisory type poker website that will offer poker tutorials and lessons from Gus Hansen himself.

ThePlayr.Com will feature an "Ask Gus" section where poker players can ask Gus specific poker related questions and a Poker Academy where Gus will tutor his visitors on his personal aggressive style of poker play. The site promises to provide poker players with personalized poker profiles, customizable poker player blogs and a large active poker forum.

Additionally Gus intends to add an international poker league the Playr League. Due to Hansen's deal with Full Tilt Poker as an exclusive spokesperson ThePlayr.Com has been created in close collaboration with the poker room. Full Tilt has gone to some lengths according to press releases to create some exclusive deals for ThePlayr.Com readers.

ThePlayr.Com will offer tournament buy-in sponsorships at Full Tilt poker as prizes in competitions and tournaments. Playrs will also have a shot at winning the 'Poker night of a Lifetime' which according to Gus is a home game with eight of their friends, and Gus Hansen in attendance, throw that in with $5k and you've got a party.

The 99 most active players of 2008 at ThePlayr.Com are also to be awarded one of nine seats in an online poker tournament with Hansen, the first place finisher of that tournament will win a seat in the 2009 Aussie Millions Poker Tournament.
