High Stakes Poker Show hires new host
Poker shows are very popular for poker fans to watch and see how their favorite poker stars do against each other in a live setting. One of the most popular poker shows on television is High Stakes Poker. High Stakes Poker airs on GSN and fans have been tuning in for many years now to watch their favorite players in action.
The show recently announced they will have a new host for the new season.

For the first six seasons of the show Gabe Kaplan was the host of the show. Kaplan is a poker player but best known for his role in the hit television show Welcome Back Mr. Kotter. Kaplan will be replaced in the seventh season by Norm MacDonald. Norm is a well known poker player as well as comedian. He will be joined by Kara Scott as co-host; she joined the show last season.

The new season will be premiering on February 26th at 8pm EST on the Game Show Network. The show features a poker game that has a minimum buy-in of $200,000 and the buy-in can get as high as $500,000. The show features various themes such as bad boys of poker in previous seasons so it will be interesting to see what the themes are this year.

High Stakes Poker released a statement on the changes for season seven and they commented in the press release that MacDonald is a passionate poker player and he has competed in several events. MacDonald has played in charity events as well as celebrity poker tournaments and the World Series of Poker. It will be interesting to see how well MacDonald vibes with the show and the players that compete in each tournament.
