Jose Miguel Espinar Wins Latin American Poker Tour Punte Del Este Title
This past Thursday the Latin American Poker Tour Punte del Este Championship finished with Jose Miguel Espinar of Spain nabbing the title and top prize. This was the final stop of this year’s LAPT and three hundred and fifty players showed up for the action.

The tournament had a $2,500 buy-in that created a prize pool over $850,000. Many members of Team Poker Stars would be in attendance including: Vanessa Rousso, Humberto Brenes, Alex Brenes, Alexandre Gomes and Gylbert Drolet. All of who would finish in the top thirty two. Humberto finished in 20th place while Vanessa Rousso finished in 10th after being knocked out by Espinar. Espinar went into the final in third place against Team Poker Stars players Alexandre Gomes and Gylbert Drolet.

At the final table, Espinar took out two players, Paulo Cesar Ribeiro and Jose Perez while Lisandro Gallo took out Sidney Chreem. Gallo took out Drolet next, who placed 5th. Alex Brenes took out the former chip leader Gomes and then Lisandro Gallo working his way to heads up play against Jose Miguel Espinar.

When heads up play began Espinar had a 4-3 chip lead. Brenes could not seem to catch a break and after just a few hours was running short on chips. Brenes decided to go all in with A-10 and Espinar called with Kc3c. The cards came Kd7c9c4s9s keeping Espinar alive and the champion, winning over $200,000.
