Man VS Machine
The Rio Hotel in Las Vegas will be holding the Man VS. Machine match July 3rd – 6th. The Polaris 2, a poker playing machine, will take on professionals during the Gaming Life Expo. Developed by the University of Alberta’s Computer Poker Research Group, the Polaris is a series of computer programs rumored to be able to give any professional a run for their money and the capability to beat most amateur players.

This will be the second time Polaris has been tested by Professionals. Last year against pros Ali Eslami and Phil Laak, the Polaris was marginally defeated with one win, two losses and one tie.

Bryce Paradis, Lead poker coach with Stoxpoker.com, stated “Against the current AI in Polaris 2, the average poker player would be completely dominated. The Polaris 2 team has made incredible improvements since the match last year. The most powerful change is that the AI will now learn from and adapt to its opponents’ play as the match progresses. This year’s Man VS Machine match is going to push our team to their limit.”

Stoxpoker.com will be represented by poker professionals such as Nick Grudzien, IJay Palansky and Matt hawrilenko, with additional pros to be announced during the weeks leading up to the event.

We of course think that our online poker guide features the best internet poker rooms available but if you are interested in learning more about this card game then Wikipedia has a number of pages about it, including Texas Holdem rules and hands. They also feature information on most other kinds of leading poker games. If you are interested in poker rakeback then Rakeback.org has it covered quite well.
