Mystery Online Poker Player believed to be Phil Ivey
For the past few years an online poker player has shown up at PokerStars high stakes tables and earned nice payouts by playing good poker. The online poker player, known as RaiseOnce online, was recently seen at the high stakes poker tables at PokerStars and players are starting to suspect the mystery poker player is none other than Phil Ivey.The player has been seen playing at the $1,000/$2,000 high takes tables and according to online poker site Poker Table Ratings, the player has lost over one hundred thousand dollars since the summer of 2009.
In 2010, the player won event #39 of the WCOOP and still remained anonymous. The player continued to hit the tables at PokerStars and won just over $50,000. Because of many different factors, fans and players alike think that the player is Phil Ivey.
Some think the player is Ivey because they both player high buy-in online tournaments but not on a regular basis. Both use a similar style of text chat during the games and both player a wide variety of poker games. their style of play is also similar and last but not least the account for RaiseOnce is based in Mexico which is where Ivey has a home.
It will be interesting to see if RaiseOnce still hits the poker tables in the future or if he will take a break during all the speculation. Or will Ivey come forward and confirm that he is the online poker mystery player.
