Party Poker Advertisement Banned
UK gambling websites have been coming under fire recently by the ASA for their many different advertisements. It seems that every time a gambling site creates a new advertisement it is banned pretty soon after it is released. The latest online site to have an ad banned by the ASA is Party Poker. The online poker room created a new ad campaign for their $2 million prize pool game and it received one complaint before it was banned.

The new campaign uses the phrase “Players win more at Party Poker” and under that there is a small text that states “Poker Players Research Ltd Opinion Poll, May 08, Sample Size 10,000”. One public complaint was sent to the ASA so they began an investigation into the advertisement.

The ASA released a statement that commented the “Play for a $2 million guaranteed prize pool” would make the readers believe that they could win more money playing at the Party Poker website than at other online poker sites. They also stated that the poll information was misleading to the reader as ‘more people love to win at Party Poker based on the poll outcome’.

It seems online gambling websites in the UK are going to have to be very basic to avoid being banned by the ASA.

We of course think that our online poker guide features the best internet poker rooms available but if you are interested in learning more about this card game then Wikipedia has a number of pages about it, including Texas Holdem rules and hands. They also feature information on most other kinds of leading poker games. If you are interested in poker rakeback then Rakeback.org has it covered quite well.
