Pennsylvania Teen Wins Big at Aussie Millions While Pursuing Poker Career
Zachary Gruneberg was a nineteen year old college student at Penn State when he withdrew to try his hand at professional poker. Zachary’s parents did not know that he had been pursuing a poker career and when they found out they were both shocked and filled with pride. Zachary recently won almost $250,000 at the 2009 Aussie Millions Poker Championship.

Playing a total of fifty hours of poker in Australia over six days during the Aussie Millions gave Zachary the confidence he needed. He commented that he wishes he was twenty one so he could go to Vegas and test his skills there.

Zachary would play online poker for ten plus hours a day while he was enrolled in college. Craig Gruneberg, Zachary’s father, commented that Zachary had always been lucky in his life with lottery tickets. Craig stated that Zachary would scratch off more winnings than anyone else in the home.

Zachary considers his online poker playing ‘his job’ and states: “You spend so much money going to school, but if I’m making a quarter of a million at my first tournament, it’s probably worthwhile to check out a few other ones.”

Zachary will be playing in the European Poker Tournament in Denmark on February 17th and I would not be surprised if he did very well. We may even see his name soon on popular poker sites if he is signed by the top online poker rooms.

We of course think that our online poker guide features the best internet poker rooms available but if you are interested in learning more about this card game then Wikipedia has a number of pages about it, including Texas Holdem rules and hands. They also feature information on most other kinds of leading poker games. If you are interested in poker rakeback then Rakeback.org has it covered quite well.
