In some states you don't have to be over 21 to play poker and the Meskwaki Casino near Tama may soon allow it soon as well. The Tribal Council has approved the plan to allow 18 to 21 year old play poker games such as Texas Hold'em.

Tribal spokesman Larry Lasley Jr. Said that the tribe can make the change because players and not the casino provide the game's jackpot when they buy into the game. They wouldn't be allowed to play in other card games such as Blackjack where the casino provides a dealer and has a stake in the outcome.


So far a date hasn't been set for the change but under 21 poker players are already excited.
