Facebook is one of the most popular social networks available online. Millions of people stay connected to friends and family via the Facebook website. Many members of Facebook have taken advantage of the many applications available to play games as they visit with friends. Research has found the one of the more popular game choices on Facebook is poker.

Gareth Davis is the Chief of Games at Facebook and he has stated that more and more people are using Facebook to play poker. As he spoke to Reuters at the Game Developers Conference recently, Davis also commented that Texas Holder Poker is in the top ten of most played games on Facebook.

Davis commented: “With all that growth, what we’ve seen is a tremendous interest in the usage of games. Poker just passed the 11 million monthly users, which is the same size as World of Warcraft.”

Facebook has more than one hundred and seventy million users currently so the 11 million poker players are only a small portion of Facebook’s members. Many more will most likely begin playing poker on Facebook and we could see the number rise continually for some time.
