Poker Rivals Coming to Facebook
British social games developer Playfish Limited has created a new poker game for the social networking site Facebook. The new application is called Poker Rivals and it is in its beta testing phase.

Playfish is based in London and they recently were bought out by Electronic Arts for up to $400 million. EA is now testing the new application Poker Rivals after the success of Texas Hold’em Poker which was released by Zynga, the company’s rival.

Players who are testing the game are able to become a virtual person and play the social game. The game gives players the ability to purchase items with their winnings as well as being able to decorate their avatars and animate their characters in the game.

Playfish commented on the new application by stating: “Playfish have gone all in with Poker Rivals to take Texas hold‘em poker to a whole new level. Whether you’re a newcomer to hold’em or you’re an old hand, you’ll feel instantly at home in the ultimate poker experience. Hit the tables with your friends or try your hand in a tournament then show everyone you’ve got the right stuff by buying new clothes, accessories, even a whole new apartment with your winnings. You can even buy your own private yacht, but that’s for the real high rollers only. Veterans can hit the tables right away while beginners can choose to clue up in the Poker Rivals tutorial. Don’t worry if you’ve never played a hand of poker, it’ll teach you everything you need to know.”

We of course think that our online poker guide features the best internet poker rooms available but if you are interested in learning more about this card game then Wikipedia has a number of pages about it, including Texas Holdem rules and hands. They also feature information on most other kinds of leading poker games. If you are interested in poker rakeback then Rakeback.org has it covered quite well.
