PokerStars and Joe Hachem part ways
Joe Hachem and online poker room PokerStars have had a successful relationship for the past six years but now the two are parting ways. Hachem has decided to stop playing around the world while representing the online poker room and stay closer to home. Hachem has decided to stay close to his wife Jeanie and their children by playing exclusively for the Asian Poker Tour. Hachem has been signed by the Asian Poker Tour to play the role as ambassador and this will mean he will be able to remain closer to home at all times.
It was in 2005 that Hachem first joined PokerStars after he had won the World Series of Poker Main Event. Hachem continued to play for the online poker room and leaves on friendly terms. It was back in December that Hachem made the final decision to quit the online poker room.
Hachem commented on his experience at PokerStars and why he has decided to leave the online poker room by stating: “It’s been a great run with PokerStars and I’m proud of my association with the people and the company. But it’s time for me to pursue other career opportunities and it will be fun to have some down time to spend with my family. I look forward to the future with much excitement and anticipation and will always have fond memories of my time at PokerStars.”
PokerStars will be sad to see Hachem go, according to Eric Hollreiser the head of PokerStars corporate communications. They have thanked him for his contribution at the online poker site and they wish him well in the future.
