When you think of Johnny Depp you think of an amazing actor who has starred in countless movies. Some strange, some touching and some just plain weird. Depp’s most recently has gained popularity form the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, where he places treasure loving Jack Sparrow. Apparently Johnny Depp has a lot in common with Captain Jack, as someone owes him some booty.

While filming the Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp played poker with the cast and crew to pass the time between shoots. Members of the indie rock band We Were Scientists were among the players in the card games.

When the band members met Depp, they were star struck and Depp was in awe as well of their musical talent. Depp told Chris Cain, bass player of the band, that “he’s always dreamed of being a rock star”. While playing, Depp seemed to own the felt and managed to win quite a bit of money from the band.

Depp has stated that they owe him $28,000 collectively. The band has stated that they received such a beating from Depp because they were so excited to meet him and could not possibly focus on poker. Keith Murray, the lead singer of the band, stated that he had heard they were not the only ones who owe Depp money. It is believed that Orlando Bloom, also from Pirates of the Caribbean, owes Depp over $800,000 from playing poker.

Johnny Depp seems to be very skilled in the game of poker or his gloriousness as an actor and person helps him win against the likes of many.
