Ross Jarvis Wins Virgin Poker Festival
Last weekend the Newcastle Poker Festival took place at Aspers Casino and attracted two hundred players to compete in the event. One of those players competing in the two day poker event was Ross Jarvis. Jarvis is a writer for PokerPlayer magazine and managed to outlast the field and take the first place win.

The two hundred players created a 30,000 Euro prize pool so first place would earn 7,000 Euros. Jarvis was up against Kris McLackland, a local player, in heads up play. Brian Clarke place fourth while Andy Edgington almost made it to heads up play before being ousted in third.

Heads up play lasted for ninety minutes before Jarvis was able to take the win. Jarvis wrote on the PokerPlayer website: “The 7,000 is by far the biggest score in my poker ‘career’ and was the perfect tonic after a number of near-misses and epic blowups in big tournaments before. After putting that much pressure on myself it was a huge relief to reach the end.”

We of course think that our online poker guide features the best internet poker rooms available but if you are interested in learning more about this card game then Wikipedia has a number of pages about it, including Texas Holdem rules and hands. They also feature information on most other kinds of leading poker games. If you are interested in poker rakeback then Rakeback.org has it covered quite well.
