Woman takes down first at WPT National Series ParisThe WPT National Series Paris finished up recently and for the first time ever a woman has claimed the first place prize. Natalia Nikitina from Russia was the last person standing out of the 189 player field to earn the first place prize of $330,500.
The tournament is not an official tournament of the World Poker Tour but players acknowledge that this tournament is a top event and Nikitina has earned a lot of respect for winning the event. The lady poker pro was able to outlast such top players as Jean Louis Tepper, Nicolo Calia, Alexandre Brivot and Sam Trickett.
The final of the tournament came down to Nikitina and Alexandre Brivot. Nikitina was able to hold most of the chips so she was able to take down Brivot easily. Brivot took home €174,000 for the second place finish while Nikitina took home $330,500 for first place. Nikitina decided to use her cash to purchase BMW 3 Series.
The win was a significant one for Nikitina as her highest place finish was a 300 Euro buy-in ladies event at the European Poker Tour Vienna. Nikitina will most likely be entering in many more events since she did so well in the World Poker Tour event. Her most recent win is sure to give her the push she needs to enter in many more major tournament events.
