Young Player Wins Heartland Poker Tour Event
David Peters of Toledo, Ohio bested the field of more than three hundred players to take home the win at the Heartland Poker Tour No-Limit Texas Hold’em Main Event. The event took place in Mount Pleasant, Michigan at the Soaring Eagle Casino where several players had hopes of winning the top prize. However, no one would be able to outlast Peters, whose win was his largest to date. This was the first time the HPT held an event at the Soaring Eagle Casino, but a founder of the HPT stated they “could not be happier with the turn out… and look forward to returning in 2009. The tour will now be moving on to Minnesota at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs in September.
